Finding my voice
Hi Guys!
Lately, I've found myself questioning God's
timing, his plans for me...generally wishing for things to be perfect,
to "fall into place".
I'm the girl that sings every
song that's playing on the radio word for word, the girl that pops in
Adele's "21" and proceeds to hold a mini-karaoke session right
there...no one can do "Someone like you" better than me. Well, except
maybe Adele. Then I lost my voice over the weekend. Laryngitis. I opened
my mouth to sing along to Maroon Five's "Daylight" and then BAM. No
sound. This has never happened to me before. Communicating became a
chore, sign language began to look like heaven.
Never
in my short life have I thanked God for my voice, for the ability to
speak. It may seem so small, almost inconsequential...I always took it
for granted until I had to do without it. My voice is back now,
kinda...still touch and go, you hear me now and then you don't. But what
of the dumb? Their voices aren't coming back. The deaf? They'll never
hear the beauty that is Adele's voice. The blind will never see a
rainbow; the sign of God's promise to us. I'm reminded to be thankful
for the little things.
