Like, literally every Cafe will serve you mad croissants, don’t stress yourself
by going far. To be honest, Paris gets pastries right. If you think croissants
aren’t your thing (like I did), have a bite in Paris and thank me later.<u1:p></u1:p>

Of the 4 European countries I
visited, the people in Paris were hands down the warmest, friendliest and the
most helpful/polite. I’d been told about how rude the French are. Sis, not to
me. Every single time I had to climb the stairs with my 2 big boxes, someone
would always take them off me. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. One time I couldn’t find
the platform I needed to be on to catch my ride to Brussels; a stranger
followed me round the station checking the screens until we found it. I started
feeling bad at some point, like what’s all this niceness for; this was the
point that I realized that being Nigerian has made me extremely suspicious and
non-expectant of good civil behavior. Too poor.<o:p></o:p></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></div>

Taking this pictre was a mad struggle; I put my bag on the floor and set my iPhone in front of it with the 10 second timer on. The twenty something pictures almost like this one can attest to the difficulty in self-timer shots but I pressed on until I got this one. Not sorry though, it turned out really well.</div>

5 REASONS TO TRAVEL SOLO

You can eat breakfast at 8am or 3pm; you can shop all day if you want, without someone complaining about their hip aching and rushing you out of the mall (side eyeing you Mandy); you can lay in bed all day doing nothing or read a book with the bedside lamp on till 3am. In summary, you alone decide what you want to do, when and how you want to do it.</div>

3. <b>Time to relearn yourself</b>: The best thing about vacations is I get time to be alone with myself. I try new things, eat new food, learn things about myself that I never knew and even remember things about myself I'd forgotten. Vacations remind me how much of an introvert I am and how much I love being with myself, I allow myself get lost in the quiet of my thoughts. I remember how much I love singing and dancing and pretty much performing like Queen Bey...all in my birthday suit. I also feel closer to God when I'm away, as I pray more when I'm on vacation. </div>

4. <b>Be Spontaneous</b>: You can take a day trip into the next city without wondering how any one would feel, go swimming at 1am and dance on your bed until you're dizzy. Whatever your mind can think up, you can do it as easily.</div>

5. <b>No Judgement Zone/Make bad decisions</b>:Buy the $1,000 bag without being guilt tripped, eat a whole tub of ice-cream for lunch and a burger and fries for dinner without anyone making funny comments about you getting fat.  I love vacations because I allow myself indulge in a few too many treats; it's so much sweeter when no one's watching you pig out. </div>

BURG: A FOOD REVIEW

Remember when I asked if you wanted me to tell you about my visit to Burg on IG Stories but most of you voted for here instead? Well, here it is.</div>

The first time I heard of burg was when Atim (@afrolems) popped in during a lunch break and put it on her IG stories. The first thing I said to her was OMG, why do they look like they borrowed Shake Shack's vibes? Like, that was all I was seeing. But if they taste as good as, then I'm good. </div>

The first time I went to Burg, I was going to see my friend after, so I ordered 2 Burg OG burgers, 2 Spike fries and 2 Oreo Nut Milkshakes for the both of us and a Pink Lemonade for me. Then I saw the bill. N23,500. My heart was beating so fast. N23,500 for junk?</div>

Let me tell you the truth. Burg is PRICEY! See break down below:</div>

Burg OG Double: N4,500 x 2 = N9,000</div>

Oreo Nut Milkshake: N3,000 x 2 = N6,000</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Spike Fries: N3,000 x 2 = N6,000 </div>

I ended up taking out the fries (like who eats a burger sans fries? Who???), so I paid N17,500 which is still a whole lot! I guess you can do a Single instead of Double Burg OG and pay N3,500 or N4,000 (I forget) and do the lemonade @ N2,500 so your bill comes to about N6,000/N6,500. I still call that pricey and I know that someone looking for an affordable treat won't want to spend that much for that little variety. </div>

I can forgive the burger prices, but why is a milkshake N3,000? And a regular cup of lemonade N2,500? Why are fries N3,000? I can't get over those. </div>

<b>Space:</b> Burg is located at the beginning of Isaac John street, Ikea GRA, before you get into the traffic areas...that's the best thing about its location. It's a nice spot to chill as well, with an outdoor area both in front and behind (secret garden, which is more like a bar for shisha and drinks).</div>

<b>Food: </b>The burger is good, I admit. 6.5/10 good. I've had the burger 2 more times and the bun remains soooooooo soft! The Oreo Nut milkshake is maaaad! 10/10 mad. The lemonade was good too.</div>

The staff at Burg are really courteous and helpful! They also let me pay via transfer (no idea where my Debit card is) which is a +++ in my books.</div>

I go back to Burg pretty much for the milkshake; it's kinda on my way to the airport (if you take a very slight detour and pass GRA instead of MBA) and because of my recent trips I've had reason to be in the area, so I stop by. I won't go to Burg often because I don't want to be broke or fat (read: fatter than I already am), but it's worth a visit if you've never been.</div>
